A self described “silky” and highly alkaline water (pH 10) slips over the tongue like the smooth sides of marble, or the metallic railing of a public staircase smoothed by too many sweaty hands. This salty basic water is disconcerting rather than comforting, eerily familiar like a subway station. A well worn water, practiced in its transparently high basic ph and commonplaceness, with enough potassium to smell of the used milky bath (and the lifeblood of a city) of an iron, blood, urine and chai latte puddled soaked platform. Warming, rather than cooling. Almost hot. Like spicy Thai coconut soup. While it agrees with my stomach, to a point, skip this metallic milk dud if you want something refreshing.
